Hello, my name is Ja'Dell Davis

The sociological study of race and ethnicity and their function within the educational context are the main areas of my research interests.

I am particularly interested in the experiences of racially minoritized youth as they transition from high school to college and how youth are prepared to navigate college and society more generally. My current focus is on the educators (e.g. youth workers) that support students as they enter predominantly white institutions and how they create and implement youth programming in their educational contexts. Educators in Afterschool and Out-of-School Time programs are central to my research.
